    Default AV Arcade 5.5 released

AV Arcade 5.5 is now available in the customer area introducing:

    Game submissions
Users can submit games to your arcade ready for you to approve via the admin panel. Credit is given to the user on the game page and the game shows in their profile in a 'submitted games' section. Can be disabled.

    Friends system
Users can now add friends by sending a request to another user. When the request is accepted, they are added to your friends list. You can then view friends-only leaderboards and challenge friends to beat your score.

    More, better emails
Emails can now be sent to users when they receive a PM, friend request and highscore challenge. The emails are also have templates just like templates for the main site, so they're looking a lot nicer. Users can disable any emails they don't want.

    Link exchange
Users (registered and non-registered) can submit their links on the links page. They are given a special referral link so you can track incoming clicks. Outgoing clicks are also tracked.

    There's a bunch more, mostly self-explanatory:

    • Sub-categories
    • Game comments pagination
    • Limited the number of page numbers to show (will only show previous 3/next 3 rather than all pages)
    • Added optional 'All games' category
    • Meta tags for pages/news
    • Publish/Unpublish button for games in the admin panel
    • Proper user banning, ban button in manage users
    • New FGD feed
    • Tracks the date/time of user's last activity, displayed in the admin panel/profile/friends list
    • New category sort options - Most played and Highscore enabled
    • News RSS feed
    • Hightek template aesthetic improvements
    • Add http to a users website URL if it doesn't contain it
    • New settings for date format, advert duration
    • Return user to previous page after login
    • Plenty of bug fixes
    • Last minute unity 3D support

And yes, the "Pro" has been dropped from the name, it's just AV Arcade from now on

To release candidate users: You should upload the admin and includes folders from the final release to make sure you have the latest versions.

Get it on the customer area at: http://www.avscripts.net/store/customers

Please also translate the new language definitions and post them so I can update the main site.

    Thanks,
    Andy

Sounds great. I'm almost finished upgrading my themes.

Note: You might want to remind people in the template-updates.rtf file that we have to upload game_message.png to our images folder. That way when a user submits a highscore, the green background appears.

Nice job Andy - everything seems to be working...but i'm worried about the update process - lots of files have changed...and I have made some code changes myself...so will be hard work

Hello, thank you for this great Update!

Unfortunally this update is not compatible with CrawlProtect: http://www.crawltrack.net/crawlprotect/

When I try to login, I get the following message:

This site is protected by CrawlProtect !!
    Your visit has been blocked.

This is beacuse of this part "prevpage=http%3A%2F%2Fphysics-games.de%2F" of the URL.

    My Website ist http://physics-games.de.

Do you know a solution for this problem? I like CrawlProtect and I would like to use it also in the future.

    Greeting
    Ikcora

docster - All I can say is redownload, it's working for other people

Ikcora - I'll see what I can do, maybe disable login redirects as an option. Can you add exceptions to crawlprotect (tell it to ignore that 'problem').

    Best Regards,
Go to the website for both and compare the demo's and look at the specs. The differences are huge. Really, they are two completely different arcade scripts. And should not be compared to each other. One should compare what they are looking for in an arcade script. 5.5 is an awesome script. And is easily comparable to any of the competitions scripts in the USD $100 - $200 range.
