I was wondering if anybody knows a good, preferably cheap, host that allows php uploads for quite large files. My current host limits to 2mb file uploads and I want to be uploading files through a html form up to about 15mb. It would also be good if they allowed php to send mail. If anybody knows a host like this for less than $10/month that would be brilliant.

Have you talked to them? Asked them to increase it?

Less than $10/Mt you can get a reputable host with that. :) Add <$5 and you can host with http://www.liquidweb.com/cart/content/shared/

Hostgator offer some amazing plans for a cheap price. I demand a lot from webhosts, and I can honestly say I am thoroughly pleased with them.

I have never been a 'loyal' customer to webhosts until HostGator - been with them for two years now and have never looked to change.

They offer packages as low as $4 something per month... They allow you to edit lots of functions of your hosting.. I send lots of mass mail to subscribers, and upload MASSIVE amounts of data - they have increased their cPanel upload limit to about 600GB now too, lol..

Recently, after much demand, they allowed Adult Website hosting on their shared servers too!

I can vouch for hostgator, and if you choose to use them please consider using my affiliate link (http://www.chuckun.co.uk/index.php?adclick=1) :)

I have had 4 sites with Bluehost and have had no problems with them. Check them out. Here's my affiliate link (http://www.bluehost.com/track/sageth/avscripts).

I use Dreamhost, they have a lot of features for a fair price. Did I mention you get 2 weeks free to try it all out and if you don't like it you can cancel anytime.

I'm with hostgator too. I was wondering are you on Shared, VPS, or Dedicated server?

hi,

i use two different hosters:

- all-inkl (http://salvador24.com/uses/all-inkl) (aff link)
great uptime, fast support (15-25mins for the (few) times i mailed them)
at least 16% cheaper in domains than the other one below.
plus: up to 20% discount on the package if you prepay
i use them for around 2 years, and it is my favourite one.
- 1und1 (http://salvador24.com/go/to/1-und-1) (aff-link)
a bit more expensive for the same things. comes with lots of stuff (i do not need) :)
i use them for around 11 or 12 years.

both can have unlimited traffic, but do (imho) not have any unlimited space plans like hostgator (http://salvador24.com/recommends/hostgator) (aff-link).

both have some kind of dashboard and administration stuff to upload resp. 'ftp via browser', i do not think 2mb would be a prob, but i can not tell you any exact limits there.
i prefer to (real) ftp the stuff, and do not use most of this fancy stuff :)

edit: they both reported are germany based...

edit-2: if you choose hostgator, there should be a coupon automatically applied giving you 20% off your package price.

however, if this is gone or your total is less than 50 bucks, i created a coupon for you, that should give you $9.94 off the package.

hostgator (http://salvador24.com/recommends/hostgator) coupon code: avarcade2010

regards,
thomas.

I use Hostgator and highly recommend them. Re: sending mass mail. Hostgator has limits on mail sends (as most hosts do) and they won't send any of your mail after xxx (think it was 200 but check) per hour, they will just be deleted without any notification to you. Check out their forums for more accurate info and how to throttle your mail sends to comply.
